To apply for a family reunion visa for a minor child joining their parent(s) in Germany, you are required to present a valid passport (with at least 6 months of validity remaining). Ensure that all documents are complete before submitting your application at the Embassy.

Required Documents for Application:

1. Forms

• Completed national visa application form
• Declaration form (Section 54 (2) 8 in conjunction with Section 53 of the Residence Act)

2. Biometric Photos

• Three biometric passport photos of the applicant (not older than 6 months)

3. Passport Copies

• Copy of all pages of the applicant’s passport (A4 size)
• Copy of data and signature pages only of parents’ passports (A4 size)

4. Documents of Parent(s) (if applicable)

• If parent(s) is/are non-German, provide a copy of parent’s residence permit (“Aufenthaltstitel”) for Germany
• If parent(s) is/are recognized refugees or entitled to asylum/subsidiary protection, provide:
  • Copy of the notice of recognition from BAMF
  • Copy of parent’s Meldebescheinigung (residence certificate) in Germany, not older than 6 months

5. Marriage or Family Documentation (if applicable)

• Original Sinhalese/Tamil parents’ marriage certificate + scanned copy certified by the Ministry of Foreign Relations + translation or German marriage certificate
• Original Sinhalese/Tamil parents’ Decree Absolute and Decree Nisi (if applicable), certified by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, mentioning custody of the child + **translation
• Original Sinhalese/Tamil death certificate of the deceased parent (if applicable), certified by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, with copy and translation

6. Child’s Birth Certificate

• Original Sinhalese/Tamil applicant’s birth certificate + copy + translation

7. For Children Over 16 Years (if applicable)

• C1 certificate issued by Goethe Institut (for children aged over 16)
