Vocational Training

School leavers and young adults wishing to pursue vocational training in Germany are eligible for this visa type, provided they have already signed a training contract with a German company. Additionally, proficiency in the German language is a requirement for this visa.

To apply, you must present a valid passport (with at least six months of validity). The following documents must be presented to the Embassy during your appointment. Ensure that you submit only complete applications.

Required Documents

1. Completed Application Form

  • National visa application form, along with the declaration form.

2. Biometric Passport Photos

  • Three passport-sized biometric photos (not older than six months).

3. Passport Copy

  • A copy of all pages of your passport (A4 size).

4. Motivation Letter and CV

  • A motivation letter detailing your planned vocational training (sector, region, intended place in Germany).
  • Updated CV.

5. Educational Certificates

  • O/Level and A/Level examination certificates.

6. Additional Documents

  • Any relevant documents, such as certificates of previous employment or training.

7. Training Contract

  • A signed training contract with a German company, written in German.
  • If applicable, the contract should include IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) recognition.

8. Language Proficiency Certificate

  • A B2 certificate issued by the Goethe Institut (or equivalent institution).
  • B1 certificate may be accepted if you will work in the health sector.

9. Proof of Financial Means

  • Proof of financing for at least 800 € per month for the first year of training.
  • If the trainee's salary is less than 800 €, a financing gap must be closed through:
    • A blocked account (information on providers can be found [here]), or
    • “Verpflichtungserklärung” (sponsorship declaration) by a sponsor in Germany.

10. Approval from Bundesagentur für Arbeit/ZAV (if applicable)

  • If necessary, proof of approval from the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) or the Central Foreigners’ Office (ZAV).
